A workshop on breeding free range traditional rare breed pigs which includes a look at the financial aspects of keeping a boar and using A.I. This workshop assumes that you are already familiar with keeping and handling pigs.

Who the course is aimed at:

Those who have kept pigs in the past or have pigs at the moment and have an interest in, or a wish to start, breeding.

Subjects covered:

·         A.I.

·        Mating

·         Farrowing

·         Care of piglets

·        Weaning

·         Selling your piglets

·        Birth notifying and registering your piglets with the BPA

·         Ear tagging

Workshop Dates:

These worksops run weekly on:

-Wednesday(morning and afternoon)

- Thursday(morning or afternoon)

- Friday(morning or afternoon) 

- Sunday(afternoon only).

Workshop Times between:

Mornings: 10am - 12.00pm

Afternoons: 2.00 pm - 4.00pm

Workshop Costs:

This course includes simple refreshments and a comprehensive booklet of notes written by the course tutor.
